Step 1:
Each time you brush your teeth you should be using a soft, nylon-bristle toothbrush and a pea-sized amount of toothpaste that is ADA-approved and contains fluoride.
Step 2:
Often people find that they fall back into the habit of brushing from side to side or from top to bottom. When you brush however, you should always be moving your brush in short circular circles. This allows for the brush to reach the gums as well as the teeth, which is incredibly important.
Step 3:
Applying the right amount of pressure is also wildly important. Brushing too hard can damage your tooth enamel. Brush in a smooth and gentle manner. Hard enough to actually remove plaque from your teeth but not so hard as to make your gums bleed.
